Error Codes
My service engine soon light came on.. how to i get it to spit out the codes?

You need an OBDII code reader hooked in the connector under the dash. If you go by Autozone or similar joint-they will read the codes for free.

no way to get the codesto show up in the milage area on the dash.heard someting about the radio showing some codes. its on a 99 TA

Just as a side note before i go to autozone... when i get low on gas my check gauges light comes on.... if i go further on "E" will the service engine light come on later?

Running extremely low on gas/running out can throw a code. Be nice to your fuel pump (and your walet) and always get gas when the gauge falls below 1/4.

I am guessing that you have to have a scanner to clear the codes as well..... besides disconnecting the battery

You can reset the PCM and see if it comes back...personally it would drive me nuts not knowing what it was.
Turn key on, don't start car
Pull PCM BATT and PCM IGN fuses in engine compartment
Wait 5-10 min
Turn ignition off
Replace fuses
Warning: Idle will be grumpy until it relearns and readiness tests will be reset.
