efiLive AutoVE Tuning on LS1 t/turbo
With the MAF settings according to the AutoVE tutorial from EFILive, can't I leave the MAF plugged in and use the IAT from the MAF?
Thanks,
Lonnie

I think you should be fine as long as you set the maf fail freq to 0 so it doesnt use the MAF. Unplugging it is just another precaution to ensure the computer isnt using the MAF.

Since you have a Corvette (trucks are similar), you IAT is in the MAF ... so as Nino said, just set the fail frequency to zero and you should be good.

This is interesting, cause the EFI Custom OS tutorial says to set the following:
Set the Engine Diagnostics->Engine Diagnostics->MAF->
• {C2901} MAF High Frequency Fail 1: 1Hz
• {C2902} MAF High Frequency Fail 2: 1Hz If calibration {C2902} is not available in the operating system using, then ignore this step.
• {C2903} MAF High Frequency Fail Limit: 1
• {C2907} MAF Test Min Engine Speed: 300 RPM
• {C2908} MAF Test Min Run Time: 0.1 seconds
According to the tutorial, setting these tables will prevent the PCM from reading the MAF signals.
Have I missed something?

that may very well be. neither george nor myself use efi to tune. we use tuners so i couldnt tell you for certain. Setting it to 0 regardless should still revert to SD. i would think that putting a 1 in there would leave a chance for something to be picked up from the maf. IMO

Yes, I am planning to leave the MIL indicators on so I can see if it throws the right codes to indicate it is in SD.
Thanks,

I haven't installed it yet, every time I get some time off, it snows here in Colorado and I can't get it on the road to do the data logging I need to do.
Another month and this white $hi! will be gone for a few months...
Had four days off this last weekend, spent 3 in bed with food poisoning. That was fun.
Thanks again for the help.
