    dwell

one part I've never really got into was adjusting dwell on any ignition system.....ever, so I was wondering if there are any gains to be had by making any changes to any settings in the (dwell) section on Hptuners, for my 04 goat?

Shucks man when you said dwell the first thing that popped in my mind was setting the points in the distributor with a dwell meter. I just did that the other day. Guess I'm getting old

But as far as your question I'm not sure where or what dwell you are speaking of in HPtuner. Only thing I can think of is injector dwell time maybe???? I've never messed with that in the tune. Is there another??? I wasn't aware of dwell being adjustable in HPtuner on the ignition side of things.

    engine - >spark control - > dwell.
full section just for spark control.

I have played with it quite a bit in the past on the track and on the dyno and have never seen anything come from it gains-wise even on boosted cars that needed a plug gap adjustment from blowing out the spark up top. If you increase the charge time of the coils you will decrease their life.

Oh okay I see what you are talking about. I have never messed with it myself.

Ya I still run points in 3 cars so the dwell meter is a necessary thing to have around.
