Can any handhelds do this..?
I know that LS1Edit and HpTuner are the ideal tuners for this kind of thing but does anyone know if any of the handheld programmers can completely delete the emissions regulation sensors such as the AIR, EGR and 02 sensors. I will be installing Pacesetter LT's (OFF-Road) to a true dual X-pipe setup soon and I plan on completely removing all the emissions components. The inspection is not an issue as long as i can keep my PCM from throwing trouble codes since I only have to do the ODBII scan. I plan on getting the HPTuner program eventually but i like the idea of a portable tuner as well.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

None that I am familiar with will. I have had Vinci and Predator. Pretty sure Hypertech will not either.

All you are deleting is the codes the computer scans for.
Can't the handhelds do that? I thought that was one of the basics.......
From the predator website....
"Disable P-codes: 0400,0401,0402, 0405, 1404 and 1409
Disable P-codes: 0410, 0412 and 0418
Disable P-codes: 0137, 0138, 0140, 0141, 0157, 0158, 0160 and 0161
You can look up those codes and see what they are.

Why not just use HP tuners though? It's basically the same price.
2002 Trans Am 6sp, SLP lid, Holley filter, Shaner S3 TB, Jet Hot long tubes and cats, FRA, HP tuners, Hotchkis STB and LCAs. TEA stage 1.5 5.3 heads, Comp 220/224 114 +2, UMI Boxed SFCs, Edelbrock PHR. Moser 9" 4.11 gears.

I have one of the first Predators that came out - won't permanently delete any codes without a custom tune. Need to get mine updated.

So a new predator tuner will completely delete a sensor, such as the AIR, EGR and CAT sensors?

I'd be absolutely sure before buying, and purchase from someone who offers free custom tunes. Mine is V1.03 and doesn't.

Predator will. Their latest update -series 2- does it. I can remove all air egr and O2 codes. I am catless and removed my O2 codes. The old ones required a custom tune, but now it's just another variable that you can edit yourself. If you have an old predator and send it in to be updated it will then have those capabilities also.

Okay just once more i want a truly clarifying reponse.. everyone keeps saying you can delete sensors...
but can you shut off the sensor which essantially would make the PCM think nothing is wrong and would then pass an emmissions OBD2 hookup inspection.
This is with a predator tuner i mean...
Basically i need to be able to do the above as well as tune for bolt-on's namely a Pacesetter longtube/xpipe/dynomax bullet mufflers/ no cat's.
