Any advantage to '99 + engine computer over '98
I'm doing an engine conversion. I have a '98 ls1 but no computer or harness. Can I use the newer computer or do I have to have the '98? Any advantage to using the newer computer and harness?

If i'm not mistaken , yes. Though (and I could be wrong) in '99 they changed the blinker fluid sensor, but there's an adaptor you can buy from Jegs for the harness.

you are loads better off getting a 99-up PCM and harness. The 98s have TONs of PCM quirks as well as some other items like knock handling that are much better in later years. If you are keeping the engine 100% stock, 98 may be ok, but if doing any mods and you have the choice, go 99-up. They are usually cheaper too since they made for more years than the 98 stuff.
