    98 camaro tunning

i have a 98 z28 in the shop getting long tube headers and off road y pipe, ls6 intake manifold, and a 228/580/112 cam. I have heard that due to the 98's computer that i will see less gains as compared to some of the other year camaros. What kind of reduction in power gains can i expect because of tunning?

That isnt fully true. A major set back is the lack of resoultion for the ve tables. However, a shop tune will more than likely consist of:
tuning idle, scaling your injectors for the trims, maf adjustments, pe tuning for a/f and deleting codes, rear o2's,egr/air, those sorts of things. in short, you should be ok with a shop tune.

i know the 98 heads are probably the worst flowing of all the LS1 heads...thats about the only thing that should hold you back and even that will only be a couple of hp.

Look in my sig for the potential of the 1998 computer. Any competent tuner will be able to extract the same potential from a 1998 computer as compared to a 1999+.
