2001 trans am computer into 1999 Z28

my buddy is selling me his longtubes ypipe and computer to put on my 99 z28. his computer is already tuned for the front o2 sensor delete. i was just wondering if his computer will work due to him having traction control and the intake/cam difference in the cars.

I am assuming you mean he is selling you his pcm? And I am hoping you mean it is tuned for the rear O2s to be ignored? The front O2s control the A/F ratio, and you can't tune them out. I have heard of simulators, but never anything good. You would be better off saving your money instead of buying his pcm, and just have your pcm tuned for the mods you have. Lookup Frost - he's a sponser on here who does mail order tunes. Very highly recommended.

Ya im sure you are correct. But he was selling me his headers y pipe and he said it has the corvette o2 sensors so that you don't have to get extensions. I wasjust wondering if the pcm out of the trans am will work because it comes with everything.

His PCM will work fine. The programming that is on it however, will not. You guys don't even have the same injectors between cars, not to mention the pile of secondary issues that will be caused.

In case this came across ambiguous, NO, his current programming will not be ok to use in your car. The PCM itself will, but will have to be re-programmed.
