1999 WS6 Cat Code
Ok i am posting this for a buddy of mine he has a 1999 WS6 firebird. He just got done refreshing the motor and putting a straight pipe on there with some bung adapters. Ever since he has been throwing a couple code.
P0135 "O2S Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1" EPA ($10) "Powertrain Control Module (PCM)"
P0155 "O2S Heater Performance Bank 2 Sensor 1" EPA ($10) "Powertrain Control Module (PCM)"
P1153 "HO2S Insufficient Switching Bank 2 Sensor 1" EPA ($10) "Powertrain Control Module (PCM)"
I have been able to clear them with my EFI but is there a way to tune around them with EFI??? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Derek

I know there are some 1153 code and maybe a 135 in this thread. http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread...82#post2207582
At the bottom is a link to Gearchatter.com. Look up the year model for DTC's. It gives some great information on the codes.
Beyond that, give some more info. Installed headers I assume? Did he make his own extensions? Give a good look at that wiring going to the o2 sensors. Buying Bosch 13111's have longer wiring, and are known to work great.
Click on the P1153 in that thread, it will show a few peoples experiences.370 CI - Twin 6766 Turbo - Jakes stage 5 4L80E - MWC 9" - Holley Dominator

those codes are very common with headers. I've heard mixed results over the years but I can tell you my personal experience with them. I had heater codes along with firebirdjones on here after doing headers. We both switched to bosch 13111 sensors and neither of us have had issues with those codes since. Not sure if everyone would have those same results but after getting heater codes a couple times a month and then swapping sensors and not having a heater code in 2 years I'd say it worked for me.

So from what i am reading is he will only need to buy the front sensors?

Ok never mind i guess if i would do some reading i would have found the info i needed. You need the front O2's and the back can be tuned out or use sims. Codes are either a bad sensor or wires. Fix either 13111's or try changing the back ones to the front.
