well, if you want 4.10's dont screw with the 10 bolt. move up to a 12 bolt. dont bother having your 10 bolt rebuilt either, get a used one that will suffice untill you can get a 12 bolt with 4.10's.

Ummmmm no do not put sawdust or graphite in your rear end. Do you want to mask the problem or fix it? Not to mention I highly doubt any of those would work. More than likely the sawdust would get trapped in the bearings and cause them to overheat and you'd be looking at a lot more problems than what you started with.

$375 is not bad considering the bearings themselves cost around $100. You might as well do gears at the same time since it is the same process. The gears shouldn't whine when he rebuilds.

yea thats what i was thinking. but yea i think i might actualy sell the car after i do this. but do you think it will wind if i do not change the gears? because right now its just a bearing wind and it does not do it on deceleration.

My stock 10 bolt with the 3:42s whined. Put 4:10s in the 10 bolt, they whined after a few passes at the track. Got a Strange 12 bolt w/4:11s and they scream. Doesn't bother me.

to me though it sounds like its getting worse like it doesnt do it on deceleration but only on acceleration its realy annoying. and i might be selling the car soon so i dont think anyone would buy it when it whining like that.

In that case just pick up a gear install kit from one of the sponsers (Thunder Racing or whoever) and take it somewhere to have installed. This way they cant rip you for parts atleast. The install kit should have everything to rebuild it provided you dont need new gears.

I heard a bag of sugar in your gas tank is worth 10 octane points.

Since you are thinking of selling the car and since many on this forum have changed their entire third members for upgrades maybe someone here will sell you a used, quiet one and you can swap the whole damn thing out for under $375.
    Maybe.

Maybe your Dad knows...they did that in the 40's - 50's.

I remember, it's primarily for gear and/or bearing noise, it only lasts for a short time..or long enough to get the car sold and generally makes things worse afterwards.

so $2300.00 , How much to install it, does it use your old brakes and traction control, a.b.s. etc.?

Does that include gears, already in it. Where would I go to buy one?

    Yes I'm writing a book!!
