Used Auto Transmission

well i finally got an automatic transmission with 74,000 miles for my cousins T/A paid $550 good price or not?

Personally, I'm just not real big on used transmissions. At least you know the person you bought it from. Has it been setting a long time? Often if a trans sits up for awhile, the seals seem to go bad and you have problems.

Replace the seals before install. Not too much problem when its out of the car.

front and rear shaft seals. they pull out and press in. they make a special tool for removal, but a screwdriver and pliers can get the job done if your careful. A large socket and hammer substitute for the press installation.
I tend to replace these anythime I have to reinstall a transmission. Less than $20 for both and it saves a headache in the future.
