Swapping both ways

So I've read alot of threads about swapping from 4l60e to t56 but none the other way around. I drive a 98 trans am and really want to swap the auto to the t56. I bought an 01 cam ss with a t56 and want to trade the transmissions then resale the ss. Dose anybody have a step by step of the swaps or has any body done it yet? I know everybody says not to do it but I hate the auto in my car and I have too much time and money in the car to sell it (i bought it when I was 14) so the swap is gona happen if at all possible. Any info will help! Thanks guys!

Sell the auto car instead.
Two transmission swaps would be a major undertaking. Not worth the time unless you have an extremely valuable car and doing so would increase the value.
If you just have to do it. There should be enough info on the auto to stick swap. The stick to auto should be a little easier anyway.

So you think itl b easier to swap from the stick to an auto? I've always thought otherwise. Selling my trans am isn't an option for me, it's a sentimental thing. If it were I'd just keep the ss camaro. I agree it'd b a lot easier that way but just not an option

I can understand that. Its more than just a car to you.
My transmission swap experience is limited to old f bodies and trucks.
A small or big block chevy and an auto trans are fairly straightforward to install in a vehicle that used to have a 6 and a stick.
Maybe thats just me. It always seemed easier to put an auto into a stick location.
But the 4l60E would need some computer work to swap. At least I would assume. It may be as simple as swapping the pcm. I would send a pm to frost. I'm sure he can tell you if the computers can just be swapped or if they need to be altered and in what way.
