Stock torque arm...
Anybody broken a stock torque arm? Just broke mine yesterday under hard acceleration. I didnt run anything over, didnt bottom out. It broke on the top and bottom where the arm bolts into the rear. The bottom of the rear moved forward a little so the springs were bending out toward the back of the car and hitting the body. Took it to the shop because I am at school and when they went to get a torque arm from their local stock they could not find one. I've got to get one from Landsing Michigan because no one has one in stock because they say they have never seen one break! I thought it impossible I was the first, anyone else?

the crappy thing was that I was not really doing anything, I had been hearing some wierd noises from the rear when not under power so maybe I already had problems. Anyway the shop does not want to put anything other than stock equipment on it so it will do for now I guess.

I don't know for sure but...isn't the torque arm the exact same for f-bodies from 1982-2002. If so, I find it hard to believe that there aren't any junk yards around with an f-body.
