    sounds like second gear?

Saw this guy at the store and he had a TA, noticed it was an automatic, but when he accelerated from the parking lot, it sounded like he was starting in second gear do you know what I mean? Sounded like it took a lot to get it going. No cam. Could this be because he has a stall?

A high stall converter requires more RPM's to get the car going than a stock stall torque converter. So for him to pull out, depending on the stall speed, he would need to give it more gas to get the car moving, which might make it sound like he's starting in 2nd gear and has to give it more gas to get going.
