Richmond posi carrier swap into a stock series 2?

I tried this question over on LS1tech and I didnt really get an answer.
I have a stock rear end with 2.73 gears in it. I have a buddy that has a richmond carrier with 3.73 gears on it that he wants to sell me. I am planning on buying it as long as it works.
my question is will the stock axles will work with this carrier?

if its a GM 7.5" 10 carrier with 28 axle splines then yes. Are you planning on swapping the gears and carrier over your rear end?

yes its definitely a 10 bolt 7.5 inch carrier. and I have stock axles and I have read they are 28 spline axles.

I was just gonna buy 3.73 gears for my stock carrier with limited slip non posi, but then he told me that he would sell this one to me for $300. its a whole Posi carrier with 3.73 gears already on it. its brand new.

How can you tell if you have 28 or 26 spline axles?

I think GM been using 28 splines in the 7.5" 10 bolt since 1988ish.
