    removing axes on a 2002 m6

I have a bad axel seal and I am trying to replace it. The thing is that I got to a point where I don't know what to do.I bought an haynes manual so that it would show me how, but In the manual it show a locking bolt on the carrier but on my car it doesn't have it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have the stock rear end still, there's a c-clip which you must remove inside the pumpkin prior to pulling the axle out. It's what retains the axle inside the center-section.

You should have a center pin held in by a locking bolt. Be careful taking out the locking bolt because they do break and are a PITA to drill out. After you take out the locking bolt you rotate the rear and the center pin should slide out. You then push the axle in and expose the C clip. Use a magnet to remove the C clip and do so on the other side. You will now be able to service the rear axle seals.

I have another question. I accidentally rounded the head of the locking bolt, where can I buy another one?
