    Rear end swap

    Hey All,

I have a 2000 T/A that puts down in the area of 600RWHP through a T-56 Magnum. I’m looking to change my rear end and I’m thinking about going with 3.73’s, S-Trac and 35 spline axles. My question is should I go with MWC or QuickPerformance. Who has the better product, customer service and wait time (I have heard MWC has a LONG wait once you order it)? Also this car is driven more street with a little track time. It’s a DD during the nice months… if I missed something ask, but any info on these builders is appreciated, also I’m open to other suggestions. Thanks.!

I've never even heard of S-Trac. Is that new? I have a 9" TruTrac in mine. Been running flawlessly and is quiet as can be. If I had to do it again, I'd get the WaveTrac. Heard MWC is a monster. Have seen a few of their fabbed ones in real life. They look stout.

Lol, so 600 is like 590 or 610? MWC w/Wavetrac here....S-trac would have been a consideration had it been available at the time. Why not an S-60? Great option too....less money, plenty strong and more than adequate for 600ish at the tire.

So basically, the S-Trac is very similar to a WaveTrac and TruTrac, but offered from Strange. Sounds like the cheapest option that will hold up is the S-60 with an S-Trac. If you want even stronger, get it in the 9" option.

I think I should roll with the 9" just so I don't have to do it again.

I really like the S60, but it was overkill for what we do with our car. Here's some info from back when I purchased a Moser 12 bolt: http://www.ls1.com/forums/f8/how-pick-rear-125182/

All I know is when I do my rear end it will be a 9" with a wavetrac. I like the ability to remove the center section with the rear end still in the car not to mention it will handle pretty much anything I throw at it no matter what my power level is to a point.

I know a guy that just broke his ring & pinon in his 9". The Wavetrack survived though. 5-6k rpm launches are hard on a rear

looks like im doing the S-trac 9" from trick chassis. I have the option to shorten the rear end, should I? I know my stock rims wont fit anymore if I do.. What would i have to run for a backspacing if i shorten say 1" both sides? im not even sure what the stock backspacing is.
