White- 99 Trans Am
Rear End noise
I have a 99 T/A, when i accelerate there is a squeaking noise coming from underneath the car at the rear end. Its pretty much metal on metal. It only makes this noise on take off when the weight shifts to the rear and when the car shifts gears hard. Like the whole axle and rearend is shifting front to back. Also when i am accelerating i can feel a binding/grinding in the rearend. It doesn't do it once the car levels out. But when i take a right hand curve the grinding/binding comes back and then goes away when the car levels out. I can't tell if it the wheel bearings or axle or what. It's just aggravating and would like to know if anyone has heard of or had this problem. I thought it was the torque arm bushing so i replaced the factory rubber one with a polyurethane bushing. and turns out thats not it. If anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

check your axle shafts if you know how, what happens are the bearings on the inside of the axle break/wear wrong and grind down the end of the shaft closer towards the pumpkin, wear on the shaft when you pull it out is very obvious.
plus welcome to the site if i havent already told you, lots of great car guys here
