    Talking Rear End Inquiry??

I am getting started on a 98 V6 Camaro Conversion to and LS powered ride. My question is will the stock rear end hold up until I buy a V8 unit or can I gut it and buy the gears and axels to save some cash.

The rear end is the same, no matter if the car came with a v6 or v8, save gear ratios. It is a 7.5"/7.65" 10 bolt. Sadly, they are quite weak. The v6's have been known to break them. It's not worth trying to upgrade them either, as they just simply cannot handle the power. Most upgrade to a 12 bolt if a4, or 9" if m6. You can probably retain the stocker until after the swap, being gentle with it.

Thank you very much for the info, I appreciate it. If I had to keep the stock set up for a while I was planning on babying long enough to get the up grade. Thanks again.
