    rear end gearing???

I have a simple question, that has been getting mixed answers... so hopefully some of the expertise around here can answer it correctly:

    Will my car (m6) be faster from 50 - 120 mph with 3:42, 3:73, or 4:11 gears???

    What will 3:73 or 4:11 do for 0 - 100 mph?

    Thanks!

50-120 you will be faster with 3:42, which you have in there right now. 0-50 you will be faster with 4:11s it just all depends on what you want to do. Ther higher the number in gears you go the smaller the ring and penion is going to get thus making your rpms wined up quicker when accelerating. M6 you would be fine with 4:10s imo but if your concerned on losing top end power, or your ta is a dd, 3:73s will be what you are looking for. Overall your gas milage will go to shit either way lol.....

    In a 99 C5 with 3.15, i'm going to a 3.73 & i'll only go up 300rpms..

    thanks for the clarification...

How noticable will my accel from a dig increase... with 4:11's? (Current mods: LM1, lid, sfc, bfg DR's)

And how noticable will my 60 - 120 mph decrease?

You shouldn't have any decrease in acceleration at all.

4.10 gears give the engine a better mechanical advantage in every gear, so the car should accelerate better at any speed compared to a numerially lower gear ratio.
