    Rear end advice

Ok im looking to upgrade my 10 bolt to a 12 bolt or 9" before I break it. My question is: I am on a buget so what would be my best bet or "best bang for the buck" to get a good strong rear end in my car. Any advice would be great and where i can get/order anything. And how drivable would it be with a spool its not a DD or anything just a weekend car and its gonna start goin to the track when it re-opens. So let me know what you think about everyhthing..........thanks!!!

    Sadly now demodded :(

Whatever you do figure $3k+ if you buy new (plus install unless you're a DYI'er).

Def. involves spending some cash when you wanna upgrade your drivetrain just because you really don't have a lot of options. Just gotta fork over the $3,500 or so which would get you it installed. That's not including the suspension parts you might as well do and the fact that the new rear end is gonna raise the rear of your car about another inch or so. Gonna want to lower it to. Once you start your mods, there's no stopping. One thing after another. Prolly why i'm not married yet. Too much fun dumping whatever extra cash I have into this road slut.

best and cheapest way is to buy a New 9" houseing and axle package through moser (around $1,000) then find a used thirdmember to put in it. You can find a pretty nice nodular with 4.10's and some kind of posi for $300-$600. Search ebay, your local craigs list. Any ford 9" third member will work just make sure you match your axle spline to what is installed in your third member.

Your other question, Spools are great. They are quiet, no maintenance, light, and you have a direct link. Down side of them are they will wear out your tires a whole lot quicker. Have to watch sharp turns and backing. wet conditions can be a bear.

Myself, I have a 9" with a locker and wouldn't have it any other way. I LOVE IT!!!
