Putting a 6speed back in!
I just recently rescued this 99 Z28 from a nut case. He took the 6 speed out and installed a automatic, he left the clutch pedels in the car. THAT'S RIGHT, you have to push the clutch pedel in to start it. So, I have a 6 speed to put back in but I need to know do I need a different drive shaft?

Manuals and autos use the same length drive shaft. You are good to go with the one you have.

Thanks, that solves one of my concerns. Now for the next one. The donor transmission came out of a 04 GTO and according to the build sheet, is a M12. Will it fit in the 99 Camaro?

GTO's are different than F-bodies in a few ways.
Off the top of my head, gear ratios are different, as is the shift linkage. GTO uses a remote mount linkage as opposed to a direct linkage like F-bodies have. GTO also won't have a mount for the torque arm on the tail housing. The tailshaft is also different, since the GTO uses a 2-piece driveshaft that attaches with rubber isolators.
You might be able to make it work, but I think you'd be much better off with an F-body spec'd T56. Although the GTO's do have better internal components.
