I hope not I heard that there was an external solenoid on the 94 transmissions that u had to have plugged in other wise the tranny wouldn't downshift and you would have to put the car in park and turn it off then back on to reset the ecm

I think you r right. It is called a Pwm solenoid Which is for torque converter lock up which also adds an additional pin from 12(1994) to 13(1995)

Would it still work though putting a 95 tranny in a 94 car i know you cant do a 94 in a 95 car but never heard of going backwards. or is there anyway to make that tranny work

The 1994 4L60E will have a NON-PWM Style Pump, Will not have a PWM TCC Solenoid, Different internal Harness (4 Solenoid), and different seperator plate (1994/1993 trucks)
The 1995 4L60E will have a PWM Style Pump, Will have a PWM TCC Solenoid, Different internal Harness (5 Solenoid), and different seperator plate (1995 Only)
Both have the same 393 Valve Body Casting Numbers
To make it "correct" you can change the Separator Plate to a 94, remove the TCC PWM Solenoid, and change over to a (1993 4L60E Truck)/1994 style pump
I have been told that using a 1995 and up unit in a 1994 works with out any problems, but i have never tested this on my own.
Feel free to ask more questions, i respond faster to emails Brett@ShiftRiteTransmissions.com
