    Need some quick help fellas?

Just wondering, everyone seems to go 4:10 or 3:73 with M6's. Why don't people go with 3:08's. I understand 6th gear would be useless unless doing 80 or so and it would hurt acceleration on a stock to near stock car but I eventually am going to FI or stroke, or both. Would I not benefit from those high of gears if I was pushing 500 to 600 hp at the wheels. I would not have to shift as many times in the 1/4. I really don't know that much about gearing and was wondering if anyone really knew for sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, Just my opinion... 3.08's would be like launching in second or third gear. Probably burn the clutch up pretty quick too. Be good for racing coast to coast though !!!

those gears are more suited for the salt flats, if you hit the 5-600 hp mark you would not be using it efficiently with that high of a gearset.

There's a fair amount to deciding what gears you need. 1/8 mile or 1/4? What is your tire height going to be? Peak horsepower and where you plan on shifting it?
