manual to auto
How difficult and expensive is it to swap a manual to an auto. I want to go with paddle shift but must first get to auto.

cant be that bad. just have to get a new crossmember, bell housing, just need to block off a few holes for good measure like master cylinder location and the big hole where the trans comes up through the tunnel. you can use all the same transmission mount bolts....
then a flash of a base auto ls1 tune.....

Are you doing it yourself???
If so, maybe call a drivetrain specialist. I know a guy in Dallas, he does all my work on my M6 and he did a friend of mines swap from M6 to a TH400. And my friend had no problems, hell he was the one that suggested this mechanic to me. If interested PM me and I will send you his name and number. Even if you just want some advice, he is a really nice guy and is helpful even with just giving info. He is located in Dallas.

I'm going from an M6 to a 4L80e now. Well, as soon as my builder finishes the auto build. Probably a week from now.

Cool let me know how that goes. Do you mind saying what it is costing you for the swap.

Why would you need to paddle shift? It's electronically controlled. A properly tuned tranny will kick down exactly when you need.

The paddle shift isn't really about need.
