    I think i got the wrong 4.10's

welll last time i ordered 4.10's it was for a 2 series carrier and the ring was too thick. I dont know and im not exact on this but the ring gear again looks to be too thick for a 3 series carrier. I have a 01 Z28 6 speed with ofcourse a 3 series carrier, what do you guys think i took a couple of quick pics.

You can not tell by looking at a photo. Can the manufacturer of the supplier. Also, if it doesn't fit the carrier, it will not work.

Just an FYI, but whether gears are for a 2 or 3 series carrier, they will still physically bolt to the carrier...bolt patterns are the same.

I have a set of 410's from a 2 series carrier to compare.

The pics above "appear" to show the same thickness ring gear, but it's only 1/4" or so difference in the two.

If you can get an "ACCURATE" measurement of ring gear thickness, with a caliper or micrometer, I can measure mine and we'll know if they are the same or not.

ANY 410's are going to physically be thicker than the stock 342's.

Ratio is not relative, reference dimension indicates series.

Which proves my thoughts of there being about 1/4" difference between the two. Thanks.

I think its for a 3 series carrier then, last time i took this in to Hoopers Rear Ends in Sun Valley which was from a different seller but the ring had the same thickness and they kept telling me its for a auto a4 tranny car and they cant do anything to install it, i know you can install 4.10 gears in a 2 series carrier diff because my 93 Z 6speed came equiped 2.73 gears from factory and i was able to go to 4.10's. Im going to take this ring and pinion to them and get there opinion again, but does anyone know of another shop in Los angeles area that does rear ends
