I need some major help A4 to M6 switch

I have a 2001 TA WS6 and i am wanting to switch from a auto trans to a manual. I know this is going to be some major work but CAN IT BE DONE with reasonable $$$ im a tattooest so i make pretty good $ but i dont want to spend a million dollars on it ya know. Could i do it myself or would it be best to have someone else do it. Im ok with cars but no pro. This is something i have wanted to do for a while so im pretty damn serios about getting it done. So any pro's out there could ya drop me some info. Is ther a kit or not and what would i need. I dont have much time im always working so how much money would something like this run me. Thanks a ton for any help!!!

We probably had about $1500 into my swap by the time it was all said and done. We did it in the garage on jackstands. It really just comes down to how good of a deal you can find on a T-56 swap 'kit', and how complete it is. Keep an eye out on the parts for sale section and sooner or later you'll come across someone selling everything you need to do the swap, or you could buy a donor car, or try to find someone else wanting to do an M6 to A4 swap. There is a sticky on tech about the conversion, and there is a lot of good info, just do a search. You also might take a look at this, it should be pretty helpful. http://afrashteh.com/tranny_pics/T56.htm Just do a lot of reading first so you know what you're getting into. Oh, and once you're done, enjoy it! It's a blast!
