how much gearing helps
I have 2.73's now, and I am just wondrin what kind of 1/4 mile time drops I would see if I went with 3.73's
its an automatic car.......and right now, I am concerned about traction. I chirp goin into second with stock stall and 2.73's......
I heard that a 2800 stall and 3.73's will make things a ton worse.....I know it would be worse, but by how much?

you will need to focus more on traction with the new gears.

+1 on traction focus. I would say go with a stall first. Best first mod for an A4. It will make a better et than gears. I have done both a couple times and glad I did stall first. Plus a stall is a less technical (but more physical) job. Suspension is important too. Honestly, it never fu@kin ends.
Why worse????? Faster? Quicker? Or just harder to drive?Last edited by rcleveland@barrick.c; 07-22-2008 at 05:33 PM. Reason: add on

It is true that traction will be more difficult. It's tough to get traction on the street. Just the way it is, even with good suspension. You will learn how to use it and you'll have more fun.
