How long until my rear end brakes now that I have noise
About a month ago the rear end of my 01 Z28 started making a "wa wa wa wa wa" sound while driving forward (not in reverse). It's more noticable in the upper gears. I don't have the cash to have it rebuilt right now. So, how much time do I have between now and when the car breaks? Feel's like I've been diagnoised with a terminal disease or something.

its like driving ticking time bomb and u cant see the timer, when it locks up youll know and it will cost you alot more, than if you service it now..

Just as stangslayer98 said, it will be better to have it serviced now b/c it could be just a carrier bearing or a pinion bearing.(simple to r&r) Now if the bearing grenades you risk the cahnce of locking the carrier up which in turn eats the pinion teeth up and you could possibly damage the driveshaft and/or the tranny.
