Which Gears
Question to all the Gear heads out there, no pun intended. which gears are best for our cars. I see some get 4.10's and others 373's. which is best or maybe a better answer is where do each perform best as which is best maybe a personal opinion.

Depends on the application.
I really prefer gears that will fit in whichever rearend you have though.

yes i would say if you had m6 go 4.10's a4 3.73 some would say still go 4.10's but rpm's would be higher so gas milage would change some and if you dd or just track car that all depends on a decision as well personally i went with the 3.73's in my a4 but it also had the 2.73's before so it was a pretty good change

Sorry guys, I have an A4. I just got the car and the guy said he put A strange 12 bolt 373 rear end in it. Just wondering if those were good for the A4. This car will not be a daily driver so I do not care about gas. This will be a fun driver that I want performance out of.

Wow! Nice rear. Kinda hard to believe the guy put a Strange 12 bolt in it and didn't swap it back out and sell it seperately as they're very exspensive. Got a pic of it? That's about a $2,800 rear. Got one myself.

Inmy01ta - I understand. I went to the speed shop today where he got all his work done. The owner told he he was a fool to get rid of the car. he put thousands into the car. He did verify it was a Strange 373 rear end also, No pic of the rear end but can take one. Would not BS you on that no reason to. I am new to the F-body world and was looking for info if the 373 was the way to go on an A4. He also put in an Auburn Posi unit also. Check sig for all other mods already done. Back to my initial comment are the 373's decent for the A4. Maybe another stupid question but are the 373's better for lo-end or higher speed 1/4 mile and above?

most people love the 3.73s for A4s due to the fact that its like the 4.10 for m6s....you get relitively good milage and a good mix of acceleration and not loose your top speed that much. for your last question..they will deff improve your low end due to acceleration..it will also help your 1/4 time..but not to much after that concidering you will be crosing at between 105+ ect..depends on your mods...so you dont have that much more to go until you run out of gear.
