gear ratios
I have 3.42 gears, pushing about 500 at the crank. is this better for my stock rearend, than 3.73's. am i losing out on alot of power by not using different gears.
When i floor it , it spins quite a ways would different gears help or hurt this?
thanks for your help.

With 3.73's you'll spin even more, so you'll need some sticky tires.
If your still with the stock 10 bolt out of a 4th gen your gonna snap it with 500hp.
Start saving for a stronger rear-end, then tires, then gears.

Thanks, I was thinking about getting some mickey thompson drag radials, but I was concerned about the rear end holding up with that. But I guess not now.
Thanks for your help.

is this an auto or 6 speed? i push way over 500 at the crank on the stock 10 bolt. i run 3.73 with 26" tall tires and go through the traps around 5800 rpms.
