Factory GM 12 bolt posi rear end question

So - I am completely changing the rear suspension in my '68 (Camaro). It currently has a 12 bolt posi in it.

If you had a 12 bolt posi, and if you wanted to sell it - what price tag would you put on it? That would be including the axle shafts, drum brakes - the whole nine yards.

Depends on condition of the axles and bearings. What gear ratio and also it's condition.

My guess would be from $500 to $1500 for a serviceable unit to a great condition unit. Might be more if it's an original 68 rear axle assembly in ecxellent condition and you find a restorer that needs it for his car.

I value the one in my 67 at ~$2500 but it has new(er - I had it all rebuilt many years but not so many miles ago) axles, seals and bearings along with a GM 4.10 gear set with rebuilt Eaton posi AND it's an original 67 Camaro 12 bolt (mono perch) with the factory welded on traction bar attachment.

If you can get me some info off of the axle assembly (date code, part number and application) I can inquire over on Team Camaro
in the "What's it worth" area for you.

If you don't know how to find this info you can check out the CGR (Camaro Research Group) web site. They are dedicated to 1st gen info and have been for almost 20 years.
