Drive Shaft Length
I did some measuring last night on my Moser 12 bolt and it appears that the housing is approximately 1" longer than the stock 10 bolt. This is measured from the centerline of the axle to the centerline of the pinion yoke. Therefore, my d/s will be slid approximately 1" deeper into the back of my A4 once the 12 bolt is in the car.
I know our drivelines run fairly level and that there is not a whole lot of suspension travel to worry about (our car is not lowered). What should my safety margin be as far as the distance from the front u-joint yoke to the back of my transmission? Just guessing, I may have an inch to play with once the shaft is slid into its new position. I'm just not sure if this is sufficient clearance.

just to throw it out in there, i used a stock aluminum driveshaft from a trailblazer with a conversion 1310 to 1350 u-joint.
