do u think my rear end will hold up?
ok i have a stock 10 bolt (7 1/2) with motive pro gears 373's and with moser axles and a mac diff cover with the suport studs and arp main studs.. i did all this cus i broke my axle at the track and i had 350 bucks so it was chepper to just get new axles btw i only ran a 12.9 @110 with a 2.01 60 ft on street tires 255's. now over the winter im doing a head cam swap 4.8 heads ported and polshed and 2.055 valves, 1 7/8 headers and a big cam. im looking to put 450 to the wheels. note that a also have a center force dfx clutch and alum flywheel...
i want to put 15x28 10.50 or 11.50 m/t streets probly drop it at 3500 rpm or so
now my ? who thinks im going to leave the pinion at the start line?? i know i need to get a locker or something cus im going to break then center shaft/pin in the stock eaton. btw i allready broke one worm gear rear and the eaton probly wont be far behind... but if any of u guys read all of my info leave me some feed back so i know if im going to be cashing in some of my 401k for a 9 inch ..lol

It all depends on how hard you hook. There are plenty of A4 guys running 11's on the stock 7.5", due to the fact that there isn't the initial driveline shock that you get when you launch with a manual trans. Thats what kills 7.5's, the shock of the launch, it just can't take the stress.
So if you run street tires and ease off the clutch instead of dropping it, there's a good chance your rear will be fine. Especially if you can get some controlled wheelspin. But don't expect to run D/R's or slicks dropping the clutch at high RPM's and have the stock rear hold up without an issue, because thats exactly what will kill it.

Navy Blue Metallic- 2000 Trans Am
I hate our stock rear ends. My 10 bolt is giving out as we speak. Im replacing it as a quick fix with a 3.42 out of a 6 speed for cheap as hell, but later on... before my cam.. before my stall... this car is getting a 9" (well.. with 3.73s lol) so I dont break it nearly as easily in the long run.
