    diff. fluid/ additive

I just got myself a couple bags of car parts (oil, filters, plugs, wires, etc) so I can spend my weekend doing what we all love most.... and had a quick question. I am going to change the rear end fluid and I purchased lucas oil gear oil and on the side of the bottle it said blah blah, for use with limited slip diff., no additives needed.

So, is this good enough or do I still need the 4 oz of GM additive and what problems could arise from over treatment if I do put it in and it wasn't needed, or not putting it in if it was needed.

He's got a '98, so it's an Auburn right? My '01 (torsen) owners manual says to use it with a complete drain and refill too. Just for piece of mind I'd add it, only a few bucks.

I beg to differ. According to GM and Torsen both, *ALL* LSDs should have the additive to keep things quiet.
