    clutch going bad?

It started off a couple of days ago. When I would start out going in 1st gear right around 1300 RPMs to about 1700 I am getting a lot of vibration coming from the center console. I noticed by how the shifter was vibrating. If I keep the rpms around 2000 when starting out it does not have the vibrating issue. It also does this when going in reverse. Other then just starting out I have not noticed any extra vibration problems when in any other gear and there is no problem shifting. A week ago I went to the track and ran the hell out of the car. I was having some clutch slipping problem before I went to the track. Do you guys think the issue is being caused by the bad clutch? The car is a 98 z28 with 88000 miles. If there is a better section for this please feel free to move it.

I would say a bad trans mount for the vibration. As far as the clutch slipping put it in a higher gear like 5th going about 30mph and floor it. If it shoots up then yeah your clutch is bad.

Punch it and see what happens in first or second! I just don't think a bad clutch will make the shifter shake. Maybe the shifter bolts are loose?
