Click / clunk when changing gears or breaking..
I went under the car, moved the driveshaft around and the u/joints are not the source of the play in the drivetrain..
I took my T/A perf rear end housing cover off.. no metal shavings, and a slight bit of play on the gears inside. (Possibly normal??)
All gears in the rear look good.. Nothing looked abnormal.
Can the source of a click/clunk when shifting 1-2 2-3, and breaking be from the tranny?
Tranny mount?
In neutral when I hit the breaks when moving fwd, it gives a initial click, and thats it... Shifting from 1-2 2-3 I can sometimes hear it, but not often and when I do hear it, its a loud click like a slap on my bear ass..
I never hear it in reverse...
Any ideas?
Exhaust is clearing everything just fine....
I looked at the tranny mount, could not tell if it was broken...
Is ANY level of play in the rear acceptable? Or should it be as tight as a teen?
I should add, 02 WS6 33k miles..

I had this problem ,Not sure if it will help but..... My rear pass side exhaust hanger would Clink pretty bad when shifting. And as far as play... there shouldnt be to much get a dial indicator and check it but with that low of miles I doubt it.

I know you may think this is dumn, but I had a similar incident with mine. turns out it had nothing to do with drivetrain itself. my rear passenger side caliper was extremely loose. Seriously thought I had a problem in the drivetrain too....

uhhh well that might depend on location, cause around here, Tight and teen don't fit in the same sentence, how bout "Hotdog in a Hallway".
