This can't be normal
Ok. I have a Monster Stage 3 Clutch. And the Monster Slave Cylindar that came with it.
Yes it is an aggressive clutch (rated at 700rwhpp/rwtq)
however i dont think this can be nomal...
ok at any given time, any speed, and gear, i constantly feel a thumping/tapping on my foot thru the pedals (especially if im in too high of a gear)
AND....
when im at a dead stop, when i release the clutch in first i sometimes let it catch and let the force of the clutch start pulling my momentum forward without using the gas (i figured this would keep me from glazing the flywheel)
when i do this there is a RIDICULOUS cluncking/thuding not a grinding noise. it does it worse when i have the wheels cut
the only way it wont do this is if i rev it up to 1500/2000rpm
it has 2000 miles on clutch, the last 1300 ive beat this thing so much (4K dumps, brake stands, hard down shift, chirping tires thru 4)
and its worse now at mile ~2000 than mile 1
and i believe this is normal but i will share anyways...
in reverse, the whole car shakes ( not near as bad as it did at first so i think its normal for this aggressive of a clutch)
Could it be:
Hydralic problem?
Needs Realignement?
Needs Fluid Flush and Bled?
Help please
*****(clutch was professionally installed)*****

Almost sounds like motor or trans mount.

i dont believe its the motor (especially since it only has 2000 miles on the clock)
trans mount.. i could maybe see that as a possiblity
REVNORR82 thinks that it may just be a bad clutch

Is it chatter? If it was the cutch id think it might be chatter instead of clanking. Something might be out of balance though. The clutch was made to be beat on I got one in my car. How long have you had it for. If somethings wrong with it and its under warrenty theyll help you out. Mine blew a spring and the replaced it asap

LOL! I hear you on that but the trans mount is easy just jack it up and change it out. I cant remember if you have to do anything with the shifter though

Sounds like a warped flywheel or pressure plate to me...

If you feel it in the pedal by lightly touching it at the top of the stroke it's related to the throw-out bearing. If it's chattering there might be grease or oil on the pressure plate

I think its clutch chatter tatertot's monster stage 3 does the same thing. I'm betting since yours is also a performance clutch its a puck clutch instead of a single disk clutch which doesnt allow it to engage smooth like stock. If they cant find an issue what monster told him to do with his was go take the car to 45mph and dump the clutch at 4k in 4th and it would help break it in. Soon as he did this the chatter went away it still comes and goes but not nearly as bad.

Clunking and "chatter" sound like two totally different things to me. Chatter would "jerk" the car. Clunking sounds like something else.
