ls1 bellhousing is a full 360* with 8 bolt holes. the LT1 design will only have 6 bolt holes to bolt to the motor.

I am pretty sure the spline is different on the LS1 vs. LT1

Input spline on an Fcar T56 has always been the same 26T. The LT1 & LS1 inputs differ in length by approx. an inch( LS1 is longer) . The easiest way to tell them is the LT1 has a mount for an external slaxe & uses a fork for the release system. The LS1 has a concentric slave and no fork.

    T56 Input Shaft T56 Input, 31T 10-3/4" Chevrolet LS11998-00 1386-585-010

The input shaft is on the front of the transmission. The yoke is on the driveshaft, which you can reuse.
