Banging noise on 1-2 WOT shift
My car lately has been making this noise when ever I do a hard 1-2 shift on WOT.
The noise is two quick clunking noises right after I do a 1-2 WOT shift. Its like two quick bangs on the axle with a rubber mallet is the best way I can describe the noise and it sounds like it is coming from the rear and underneath in the middle where the diff is.
Could this be wheel hop?
A technician thinks its suspension related, and I have little knowledge of the suspension specs of my car.
Its, a 2000 Trans Am, LS1, auto with 3.73 gears,
Any ideas whats causing this noise?
