    axle oil leak

got up after going to the dyno to see some oil on the ground beside my drivers side rear tire. thought it might be a brake line,, it wasnt, so i figured it was the oil seal on that axle. got in there to see everything was coated nicely with rear end gear oil. ( calipers, pads, rotors, inside of the rim, the tire, and the drip was coming from the backside where the emergency brake connected in. I got a new seal from the gm dealer and put it in , took about5 hours and got it all back together just to get up this morning and see some more leaking on the ground, now its not near the leak it was at first but it is still coming out somewhere. has anyone else had a problem with these seals, or could the leak be coming from somewhere else? need some help on this one?

Could be coming from somewhere else, or you might have installed the seal improperly. You might have to spray that area with brakekleen and compressed air to see where exactly the leak is coming from, whether it be the same area you replaced the seal, or maybe a cracked axle tube.

Oh...check the shock as well. You might have a blown shock and it's leaking.

Any chance you missed some of the fluid when you cleaned everything up and that is what you are now seeing? It was probably slung all over the place by the rotating wheel.

Make sure to check your rear shocks as well. I posted that before, but shocks can leave puddles when blown.
