You will live 10 years longer if you sell the car and buy one with a manual.

I'm with this guy. No doubt it's possible, but it's more than it's worth in my opinion. Install a trans cooler if you don't already have one and throw a stall in her before you make any rash decisions like a tranny swap

I have done close to 10 a4 to m6 swaps and i don't think they are that bad at all. The last one i started at 7am and was complete by 8pm (with a few breaks and a trip to the parts house). Here is a write up on it.

This is a pricey swap really not worth it IMO unless you get a deal on parts or have them lying around. If you go through with it do yourself a favor and replace all the hydraulics before putting it together and add a speed bleeder to the slave. Tick master cylinder, new slave, steel braided lines, etc...The clutch hydraulics in GM performance cars are absolutley horrible. I replaced the slave and MC on my camaro at 40k and just did my slave on the GTO and it had only 12k on it. I don't drive my cars hard or take them to the track very often. I don't think I will buy another GM car with a manual unless it's a C6 Z06.
