Silver- 2000 Trans Am WS6
Anyone with 3:42's in an Auto?
I went from 3:23's to 3:73's in my a4 Ws6 about a month ago....Not really liken the 3:73's that much, too much drag on the motor between 65-80mph on the highway and no traction in 1st gear at all.....If I went to the the track a lot I'd have to say the 3:73's are excellent in an auto, but I'm more street then track.....Goin to be throwin in some 3:42's in here soon and was just wondering if any of u guys with an a4 have 3:42's in ur car and what do u think of them?....How do u like em???

I swaped out my 110k 3.23 rear for a 3.42 rear with 40k other than being alot tighter and quieter, there is only a 200rpm difference at 70mph between the too. I'll swap you!

Running stock 3.42 in my 2000 trans am ws6 car and it performs really well have not really raced the car but am happy with the performance and especially the gas milage which is running about 28.2 mpg now of course thats the canadian gallon but if you figure it out to litres its getting about 6 miles per litre

yea for sure, I bet it would make my car pull hard! I know I pull pretty hard now with some of the mods I have now, but it still isnt enough, Ive gotten the edge by a few slower cars with manuals because my car wont respond and downshift fast enough w/ an Auto...but I havent really lost a race between anyone. Personally I want to get a street/ strip kit for my tranny and get gears, and a few suspension mods and call it good!
