    Question 99 z28 6speed 148,000miles all stock

    sometimes when i put n revers it makes a clunck sound. can find anything lose. idk what it is

    It's a U-Joint or it may be the pinion bearing. I hope it's the U-Joint.

    the front u-joint,the rear u-joint,gearset lash,carrier/axle splines-the combined slack in those 4 could cause a 'clunk' without something actually bad. 148,000 miles could cause a lot a cumulative slop.
