9" Rebuild
Hey,
I'm rebuilding my 9" rear and I need to know the case size for f-bodies so I can order the correct rebuild kit. Are they all a standard 3" (3.062") case?
While I'm ordering stuff from Moser, do you guys think I should ditch my Detroit Locker (which is unknown whether it is damaged at the moment or not), and get a Wavetrac differential. I will be ordering a new differential and gears from Moser, since I don't know what is damaged in my rear end right now (except maybe the axles).
Thanks.

Have heard a lot of good things about the Wavetrac.
This is from Moser's website:
Moser Nodular Iron Cases are available in two bearing sizes. The 3.062 side bearing size is made for posi-traction setups or spools with fewer than 35 splines, and the 3.250 side bearing size is made for use with 35 spline and 40 spline spools.

I have a 35 spline, so it could be either...guess I'll just order both rebuild kits and return the one I don't use.

I just reread that...so 28 & 31 spline diffs use the 3.062" case and 35 spline and up use the 3.250" case?

Pretty sure that is correct.
