    4l60e or 4l80e

    which trans is better and why the 4l60e or the 4l80e. what holds up the best? what tranny would you guys go with?

    I'd do a buitl 4l60E

    I think you need a new crossmember for the 80.....plus its heavier....


    yes its stronger, but in my opnion, not worth it

    Depends if it's a 9-10 second track car or an 11-12 second daily driver/weekend street car.

    Not in a 9 second car. I know quiete a few guys that'll kill any 4L60 inside of one season.

    The TH700R4/4L60E is good up to about 700hp, even behind a big block or supercharger.

    The 4l80E is a TH400 plus an overdrive gear and is just as strong as a 400... These were found on some trucks and never came stock in any f body or Corvette. You can swap one in, but it needs a new crossmember and driveshaft.

    ive killed way to many 700r4's with my old 1990 chevy truck with a 350 with bolt on upgrades. id never want another 700r4
