3:73 upgrade
I just changed my gears to a 3:73 and was curious to see what kind of difference does it usually make. I have a 01 m6 camaro ss with an exhaust. I was just curious to know what kind of difference would it make on my mpg and 1/4 mile run.

since you have an M6,which would have had 3.42s',and you made the smallest gear change to 3.73s',I'm guessing a drop of 1 mpg and a .2 ET reduction.

With an M6 I would have gone with 4.10s. My 93 T/A would still get 18 MPG with 4.10s.

It doesn't change much- about 7% difference between stock and 3.73. I got about 16.5 mpg in city and 23 on highway down a little from 17/24. I'm about to upgrade to a 4.11 in my new rear so things are about to change again!

The 02 M6 I had got 26ish MPG on drive I made a couple times a month from central GA to Fayetteville, NC. I got 18-20MPG around town normally unless it was a Friday night of playing. Then I got about 12 MPG. All of that was with 3.73s.
