    3.73 richmond

Just installed the richmond 3.73s, drove it lightly, changed the fluid at 500 miles. Its getting louder the more i drive it. I know everyone says richmonds whine, and im not complaining about performance sounds, but damn, these bitches are whineing. And i had a really good shop do it. They sounded great when first installed. WTF

They won't last if they are loud. Trust me, there is a problem. Get the car back to the shop before something larger fails.

I have had about 6-7 cars that I tuned over the years make a lot of noise from new gears in their 10 bolts, and they were turned back away because one shop or another assured them "it's ok"... Most of those had some kind of issue with the hard coating on the R&P failing.

the guy told me that some type of coating was suposed to come off but i dont know what it is. While i have you, i just bought a hand held Hypertech tuner Max Energy ( i know I know) and tuned the car. i thought it would have made more hp and it does help with the shifts and 3.73s, but im kinda disapponted with it. I have a decent knowledge of cars and software, is it difficult tp use hptuners or ls1edit programs. i dont have access to a dyno and i dont want to fuck up my fuel, timing and firing, ect. but i need to elimnate the rear o2s and need the speedo adjusted to the gears. Is any of this possible to do in my driveway with a laptop tuner?
