    3.73 or not

i have a 2000ss w/ a 3500 stall and headers lid and pulley. I was wondering if I should go w/ motive 3.73. I have the 3.23 stock gears. My shop told me there would be no difference. I would not feel a thing and I would be waisting money.I want to chirp gears badly. He said I should instead go for torque arm and lcas instead. Does any1 have a auto and upped to 3.73.How much of a diiference did u feel. I also have the transpak kit.

i think i would feel a difference s it money well spent though. maybe i could go w/ just the lcas and 3.73. cause i do feel a lot of wheel hop. is the torque arm worth the money. its 400 dollars for the part and 100 to install.

I can only guess, but maybe he's meaning you wouldn't feel it because of your stall?

Nevermind that though because you would, but I think hidden in his reply is some good advice. If you are already experiencing some wheel hop, putting more power down through a lower gear ration might make the problem worse.

Lower Control Arms will firm things up to help keep unwanted motion from the rear suspention to a minimum. An adjustable torque arm should allow you to change your pinion angle to get rid of the wheel hop altogether. Then you can get some better tires for traction and decide if you need the steeper gear.

    Good Luck!

gears = power + less gas milage usually
power = nothing if it doesnt get to the ground

    373's worth it

I have a 99 ws6 with 323's and a 2800 stall convertor, I just had the 373's put in last week and the difference is very minimal. Not worth it really, If I had to do it over I would not go that route, I would spend the money in a different area. Do you have frame connectors? I had them welded on my car as it is a convertible and what a difference in the way the car feels.
    Hope this helps.
