Yes you will notice a big difference even with the 2.73's. It will work but you will definately feel the slip trying to take off at normal RPM's, it will work but will take a lot more pedal to get the car to move. I waited a week to install my rear end after installing my 3600 stall due to time constraints but I'd say the difference it made even with the 2.73's was one of the biggest noticable gains even after changing to the 4.11's or the cam swap.

ive heard that when u go whit a stall dat size...that u tend to lose hp and tq, and will see couple gains after a gear swap..how true is that??

do you plan on upgradeing gears to 373s if not you should settle for more around 3000 or maybe as low as 2800 there is a website you can go to and figure all this out you put in you gear and engine size and hp and it would tell you the stall size

on a dyno the numbers will be lower when to stall isnt locked up, but on the track ull be running better times

    Exactly...

My baby cammed car has a PI Vigilante 3600 stall, weighs 3755# with me in it, and only made 344rwhp on a Mustang Dyno...but it runs easy 11's...

It made 322rwhp with nothing but headers and ORY...

so, in my example, my car ran:

    12.66@107 with 322rwhp
    11.67@115 with 344rwhp

If I can find another TWENTY dyno RWHP, I'll be solidly in the 10's...LOL

get a ss or a pt coverter... and 373s...... whether you roll race or not 373s is the best all around gear. those converters are sick from rolls.
