    2002 Z28 Drive Shaft Question

Just measured out my drive shaft as I was thinking about getting an aluminum or carbon fiber replacement. I was seriously contemplating a 3.5 inch diameter with Spicer 1350 joints and slip yoke.

    OEM Length from U-joint center-to-center was 41 3/4 inches.
OEM drive shaft circumference was about 8 inches = about 2.546 inches in diameter.

    1) Is it true that the LS1 package already includes an aluminum shaft?
    2) Has anyone out there installed a 3.5 diameter shaft? And if so, did you have clearance issues?

    Many thanks in advance...

Not all LS1's came with aluminum- only if you had 3.23 or 3.42 rear end- optional on the A4 or the standard.

The 'fuel economy' rear axle came with steel and 2.73's-

To date, the only location that is close to under four bills is Carolina Driveshaft.
